The Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSU) is a national network of experts in reproductive and children’s health issues related to environmental exposures. We work collaboratively to improve health systems to make communities safer for children and families. We also provide community education and outreach, training for health professionals, and guidance and referrals. PEHSU was created in 1998 by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and has had longstanding support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Public Health Institute serves as the PEHSU National Program Office (NPO)
