Snuggle Shield® is a WBENC-certified, women-owned pediatric health and wellness company founded by Nicole Noar, RN, RNC-OB, IBCLC, a practicing fertility nurse at UC San Diego Health, registered nurse certified in inpatient obstetrics, and board-certified lactation consultant with more than 16 years of experience caring for mothers, infants, and growing families.

Drawing from her frontline clinical experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, lactation support, and reproductive medicine, Nicole created Snuggle Shield® to help families reduce babies' exposure to environmental irritants, airborne particles, respiratory droplets, and harsh weather conditions while maintaining airflow, visibility, and comfort.

The company's flagship patented Snuggle Shield® Air-Filtering Infant Cover combines multifunctional convenience with advanced filtration technology and has been recognized by pediatricians, parents, and industry experts nationwide. Designed for use with infant car seats and strollers, the product supports families during travel and everyday outings while addressing common concerns related to air quality, crowded public spaces, and seasonal respiratory illnesses.

The reusable Snuggle Shield® Air-Filtering Infant Cover features removable filter inserts constructed from advanced filtration materials inspired by ASTM Level 3 surgical mask technology. The company's new Disposable Air-Filtering Cover utilizes full-cover PureLayer™ filtration technology and has demonstrated 99.9% bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) in independent laboratory testing while maintaining breathability. Additional testing has demonstrated UV protection and heat-shield performance, supporting the company's commitment to evidence-based product development, infant comfort, and caregiver peace of mind.

Inspired by years of caring for newborns and families in hospital settings, Nicole also envisions expanding the role of infant air-protection products within healthcare environments. While healthcare providers routinely utilize masks and other infection-control measures during periods of increased respiratory illness activity, infants are often transported through public hospital spaces, waiting rooms, emergency departments, outpatient clinics, and other high-traffic environments without comparable protection options. Snuggle Shield® was designed to provide families with an additional layer of protection that complements existing infection-control practices and may help reduce exposure to airborne particles, respiratory droplets, environmental irritants, and harsh weather conditions. The company is actively exploring opportunities to support infant transport within hospitals, newborn discharge programs, pediatric appointments, emergency department visits, travel, and other situations where families may wish to reduce exposure while maintaining airflow, visibility, and caregiver access.

Snuggle Shield® products have received numerous industry honors, including the Baby Innovation Award for Car Seat Accessory Product of the Year, the PTPA Seal of Approval, NAPPA Awards, and recognition as one of ABC Kids Expo's Top New Products.
